SECTION 4 – WEB HOSTING, EMAIL and SENSITIVE INFORMATION
Our site is hosted by Desalo UK. They provide us with the online platform that allows us to show our park and sell our services to you. The web server that the site is hosted on is located in the UK. Desalo UK have access to the database that the site runs on and they make regular backups of the site’s files and database, and therefore hold your name, address and email data as ‘data processors’ within the terms of the GDPR. They do not have any access to your payment details, and do not hold your payment details in any form (not even encrypted).
Any data you email to us is also stored through Desalo UK’s data storage, as well as by BT and Gmail. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. Mail servers are likely to be distributed, so your emails to us may well be stored outside the EU and subject to foreign legislation when it comes to disclosure to authorities. Specifically, your emails may be stored in the US, as well as in the UK.
Please note that even though this site uses SSL encryption, it is good practice to never send sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, via email. Please never put such information into our enquiry/booking form, as it is sent via email, and all email is inherently insecure.
Payment:
If you choose to pay us by card in person at the park or over the phone, XXX stores your credit card data, though only for as long as needed in order to complete the transaction. It is encrypted from our terminal through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored for only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.
For more insight, you may also want to read XXX’s terms of service or privacy statements.
If you pay us by cheque or by using a direct bank payments (BACS), your name, contact details, booking information, bank sort code and account number are all stored in our accounting system.
